Abstract:

Plants are sources of foods for human consumptions as well as for the feedstuffs of animals. Some feed stuffs are taken from plants specifically from crops which are sources of fats, carbohydrates, proteins, minerals and vitamins.

The continuous planting of same crops on the field get rid of its fertility. This is an abused practice of some of our farmers. They don’t even introduced green manure as an alternative way of regaining back the soil fertility for the next planning season. Another common practice is the burning of rice hulls and stalks after harvest. This must be avoided to save soil fertility.

Compost and liquid organic fertilizers is an approach to enhance soil fertility of the soil. This is a scientific way of treating the soil in the form of raw feeds and wastes products from plants as source of materials in its production.

New technology was introduced to improve the growth of plants using the liquid organic fertilizer (see annex 1. for the reference in producing organic liquid fertilizer)

The conclusions were made on the result of the study to wit:

  1. Using organic liquid fertilizer sprinkled to compost organic fertilizer, plants were observed to be:

    1. Seedlings grow healthy and vigorous.

    2. Hardening of seedlings prior to planting was very stiff.

    3. Transplanted seedlings are susceptible to adjust under the heat of the sunlight.

      1. Using organic liquid fertilize with compost organic fertilizer into the soil were observed to be:

        1. The soil surface is well loosening.

        2. organic liquid fertilizer sprinkled in broadcasted organic compost fertilizer discouraged soil compaction especially in clay soil and clay loam soil.

        3. Change the soil characteristics form unfertile to fertile soil.

        4. Holds soil moisture thus soil water content is slow in evaporation.

          1. Reaction of compost organic fertilizer in wet fields:

            1. It diffuses gradually and readily absorb by plant roots.

            2. Plants grow well evenly with dark green leaves.

            3. Plant grow fast manifested after one week of fertilization.

              1. Role of Compost organic fertilizer to all plant growers:

                1. Floriculturists are encouraged to use organic fertilizers.

                2. Using inorganic fertilizers plants are susceptible to the attack of insects compared to using of organic fertilizer.

                3. Encourage back the survival of earthworms under the soil and decompose further on residues of the solid mixtures.

                  1. Reaction of Compost organic fertilizer in fishponds:

                    1. Multifarious growth of green algae.

                    2. Fast multiplier of planktons

                    3. Emergence of new young cellular hormones when fully matured and rejuvenates early extended subdivision.

                    4. Emergence of macroorganisms and microorganisms that inhibit in the root hormones of seedlings when applied.
